We know the stay-at-home order is affecting everyone in different ways, and we want our residents to know we are here for you. Please call or email us with any questions or concerns and we will do our best to help you.

For now, we want to help you take advantage of those spacious Washington Ave apartment floor plans and get your sweat on with these FREE local workouts you can do from the comfort of your apartment.

Here are six free workouts from Houston Tidbits, that you can work up a sweat to and burn some calories during COVID-19. They include workouts from Houston fitness studios Pure Barre, Black Swan Yoga, RYDE, Citizen Pilates, Elevate Strength, and Body Rock Pilates with a few notes about each.

Pure Barre has FREE Facebook LIVE classes, and many classes don’t require equipment, or you can get creative and use wine bottles or soup cans as weights to make it harder.

Here are the Black Swan Yoga classes you can do LIVE. Just select your location city, Houston, and voila, you’ll see a list of classes.

Follow RYDE on Instagram for their 30-minute LIVE full body workouts. They keep them posted in their highlights for 24 hours, so you still have time to get your workout in, even if you miss the LIVE classes.

Get Quaran-toned with Houston studio Citizen Pilates on Instagram where they do LIVE mat classes every day and keep them posted on their stories. Don’t have a mat? Grab a blanket or towel or head to your bedroom to do these workouts and feel the burn!

You can also get FREE Instagram HIIT workouts from Elevate Strength, with tutorial videos and inspiration.

These Body Rock Pilates classes may be tough requiring a scooter or skateboard, but they are worth a shot if you need something new to try.

YMCA Houston has also launched Virtual YMCA, which gives everyone access to so many LIVE classes as well as on-demand fitness classes ranging from beginners to advanced and even Fun for Kids links and workouts. You could spend hours perusing Virtual YMCA and all it offers, so be sure to bookmark it.

Watch this KHOU news clip to see what other Houston gyms are offering for free classes and workout ideas.

You can also get creative and use your time scrolling through Instagram to search, save and TRY workout from home (#WOFH) challenges like this challenge from Boost Pilates, which has 3 Houston Pilates locations:

Local Houstonian Lizzie DeLacy also has a fitness app called Bodypeace, which is a yoga-inspired workout platform for people to stretch, stay active, and heal in the comfort of their own home. With sessions ranging from 5-65 minutes to meet everyone’s schedules and levels beginner through advanced, they also offer free wellness video tips, blogs, recipes and more to both members and subscribers of the app for a holistic approach to health during these trying times.

One quick note during this time is to remind all of you to show your favorite businesses, gyms, trainers (and even your favorite apartment staff, hint, hint) some love during this time. Even if you’re not a member of the physical gyms listed above, taking a few minutes to thank them on social media or leave a 5-star review on Facebook or Yelp will do wonders for our local Houston community. Remember, we are Houston strong, and every little bit of thanks and positivity helps.

Our Washington Ave. apartments are also located directly next to Buffalo Bayou Park. Although the Mayor’s orders currently mandate that the park is closed, this is one of Houston’s best parks and a great place to get a FREE outdoor workout in the near future.
